Retrofit & Upgrade

There are a number of cases when the upgrade or retrofit of an existing plant is either feasible or simply required, typical scenarios include:

• Spare parts are no longer available because the original supplier is obsolete, but the basic condition of the plant is still good and the cost for the purchase of a new plant from a different supplier are prohibitive compared to the cost of a retrofit.
• Operational cost are too high due to the high cost for replacement parts (e.g. Magnetrons), so a retrofit becomes feasible based on the reduced operational cost required for the new system.
• Increased demands with regards to product quality or product range cannot be fulfilled by the original design, but by an upgrade, and the cost for an upgrade compared to the purchase of a new plant makes it feasible.
• Efficiency and / or productivity of the plant can be greatly improved by an upgrade, making the investment feasible.
• Competitors offer the same product at a lower price / and or better quality, and the only way to beat them is an upgrade or retrofit.
